I learned this simple technique from writer, publisher, translator, and book artist extraordinaire, Stephanie Sauer. I made this inDesign template so anyone can quickly and easily make an 8-page chapbook. All you need is a printer and paper. But if you’re printing a lot of copies, it helps to have a papercutter (or scissors), a stapler (a longreach stapler makes binding easier), and a bonefolder.
This template is just a start. It can take other forms besides chapbook. Play with the formatting, increase the pages, figure out alternate bindings. Experiment!
